No. But they need a quick and simple appeals process for technical errors that mean multiple individuals have failed the SQE through no fault of their own. When eventually ‘remarked’ (i.e., the technical error corrected), sometimes 6 months later when they have lost their training contract, they have achieved a top quartile result.

Out of interest what would be your proposal for deselecting those potential solicitors who are not fit for practice? Or does everybody get a prize?

“Well done SRA, lets unveil a change that has not been demanded by anyone, and whose implementation helps no one.”

Well, aren’t you a negative Nancy? The SRA are doing their BEST to make things better, and then you go and rain on their parade. I bet your ancestors complained that the wheel was an unnecessary invention that would help nobody.

“My case is in court now.”

And there you have it! Learning the law in the best way possible – by DOING it. Good luck.

It’s not only me, ask all the candidates who have been attempting this exams and who have attempted it.
That’s a real shame.

SRA do nothing regarding complaints, the independent people are not independent.
I wasted a lot of time and money, SRA did nothing. They simply exhaust you, candidates then give up. I have gone through everything. My case is in court now.

What’s next? Creating a three tier appeals tribunal system?
